You'll see a lot of that dialect in the James Herriot, "All Creatures Great and Small" books. Very colorful and pleasing to the ear -- I wonder if it's still hanging on over there?.
Some of us in Yorkshire most definitely do still speak like this. I understood each and every word on that video, although, in parts, one could be forgiven for thinking that the main character in the video has a slight Lancashire lean in his dialect. Thanks for posting the video, by the way.

Maybe he's been living in Lancashire for a while? I can't hear it myself but I can spot a fake Irish accent a mile away on TV :)
